    The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources awards grants to individuals and organizations to foster historical, cultural, recreational, and environmental pursuits.
  • Local Arts Councils
    Check with your local arts council for regional artist opportunities and grants. 

  • ARTS North Carolina

    Jobs openings are listed for all agencies within the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, including the N.C. Arts Council.

  • Americans for the Arts
    A service for both job seekers and arts employers. Job seekers can post their resumes and use the searchable database of nonprofit and for-profit arts management positions at organizations across the United States. For a moderate fee, employers can post a job opening and use the searchable database of online resumes to find qualified professional candidates.
  • New York Foundation for the Arts
    Job seekers can access listings for free and arts organizations are charged a moderate fee to post a job opening or artist opportunity.

Visual Art Home and Away

The Carolina Artist Gallery and the Arts Council of Carteret County announce the next upcoming art show, "Home and Away" which will open on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024.

All art submissions are due no later than Saturday, July 27, 2024. The gallery is open to receive submissions on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. While connecting with the theme of the show, artists' work will represent where they feel "at home or away" revealing their creative vision of being comfortable, loved and protected. Artists' interpretations are always unique as they display perspectives in the optional two-dimensional or three-dimensional art form.

Public Art Raleigh Arts

Create Public Artwork at Sertoma Arts Center as part of the upcoming renovation and expansion of the existing center. This project is part of the 2022 Parks Bond.
Artwork can be integrated into the renovation of the community studio building or incorporated into the site.

Fees or awards
$73,000 budget to design and fabricate. Additional funds are held for engagement and accessibility.

Public Art Wilson Arts - Call for Muralists

 Wilson Arts, The Oliver Nestus Freeman Round House and African American Museum, and the Town of Elm City invite muralists from across North Carolina to create a vibrant, location-specific mural. This artwork will celebrate Elm City’s rich basketball history, highlighting the legacy of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, Harvey Reid Jr. 

We envision this mural capturing the essence of Elm City’s close-knit community, Harvey Reid’s caring yet disciplined spirit, his significant investment in the youth, and the enduring pride that Elm City holds for its remarkable basketball achievements.  We look forward to seeing how you can bring this story to life through your artistry.

This location is at 101 West Main Street, Elm City, NC 27822 in the heart of downtown Elm City, North Carolina with wonderful visibility down the main street and from the train.

Public Art Raleigh Arts

Design and build a creative installation that educates residents about the benefits of green stormwater infrastructure.

Up to three semi-finalists will be selected to interview and paid a $100 honorarium.

$25,000 budget inclusive of design, artwork fabrication, community presentations, installation, site work, engineering, taxes, travel, and fees. (The typical artist/design fee for public art projects ranges from 10 to 20% of the project budget, with the remainder of the funds used towards fabrication, installation and engineering.)

Public Art Chapel Hill Mural - Call for Art

We’re looking for a Triangle-based artist or artist team to design and install a mural on an exterior column of a new parking deck at 125 Rosemary Street in downtown Chapel Hill. Known as The Porch, this street-level entry area features a prominent rectangular column with a surface area of approximately 370 square feet across its four faces. The selected artist or team will contract with the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership to finalize their proposed design and install the mural in the fall of 2024.

The appearance of the proposed mural should fit the contemporary design of the new deck but is otherwise open to the artist’s vision.

PROJECT BUDGET / STIPEND: Up to three finalists will receive $100 proposal stipends. The artist/team selected for the project will receive an all-inclusive $6,000 stipend to finalize the design and fabricate/install the artwork.
