Town of Winterville | Mini Mural Traffic Garden Project The Town of Winterville is soliciting portfolios from artists, or artist teams, to design and install a set of mini-murals on four concrete barrier benches at Winterville’s traffic garden, a child-sized streetscape at Hillcrest Park. The traffic garden is used for bicycle and pedestrian education classes and events, adults teaching children to ride bikes, and as a general play space. The concrete benches will replace metal bollards as safety devices to prevent motor vehicle traffic from entering the traffic garden. If feasible, the town would like to host a single-day event for community members to help install murals. Logistical details and event organization (advertisement, waivers, snacks, day-of facilitation, extra materials) would be handled by Town of Winterville staff, with the selected artist or artist team to provide technical support and direction to volunteers. Location Winterville, NC Fees or awards The selected artist or artist teams will receive a $2,000 stipend. |
