Farmers Markets along the African American Music Trails

Eastern North Carolina offers a local food cornucopia. From farm-to-table independent restaurants to farmers markets, the locavore movement is to be savored and shared in this region. Many of these local foods, such as okra, peanuts, collard and mustard greens originated in Africa and form an essential part of all southerners’ traditional cuisine.
