Arts Learning Services and Resources

Guided by our FY2025–29 strategic plan, the North Carolina Arts Council is launching a direct‑service arts learning program designed to help NC schools integrate the arts more fully into the learning experience. Built on the practice and pedagogy of A+ Schools, our new program brings access to teaching artists for school visits, professional development opportunities for teachers, consultation services for administrators, and other arts learning resources to districts and schools upon request.

This streamlined approach replaces the cARTwheels and AIE Artist Residencies grant categories and offers a more efficient timeline and eliminates barriers for participation.

Bring a Teaching Artist to Your School

Request a teaching artist from our curated North Carolina roster to deliver engaging arts learning to your students at no cost. Requests are accepted from August 3 to September 30, 2026. Limit one request per school.

Request Professional Development for Teachers

Arts-integrated professional learning for NC teachers. Join core topics or request customized training tailored to local needs. Sessions will be offered virtually and in person, with both no‑cost and fee‑based options. Details and schedule are in development. Updates will be posted as they become available.

Schedule an Arts Learning Consultation

The North Carolina Arts Council offers consultations for schools and districts seeking guidance on arts learning initiatives. Discuss custom professional development design, integration strategy, program planning, and long‑term vision.
