Test of Logo & Branding Materials

Congratulations on receiving a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council. This achievement is something that you need to share about in your marketing materials and with live audiences.

Grant recipients are required to prominently display the North Carolina Arts Council logo with tagline and credit lines at funded events and in all digital and printed publicity materials related to that project or funding.

We encourage you to use the North Carolina Arts Council logo with tagline and credit lines on your website, newsletters, social media posts and as many places as possible. Give a moment to recognize the support you have received as part of any interview, curtain speech or other live moment of acknowledgment. We have provided language in this toolkit to make it easier.

This kit was created to be a resource for you to utilize the required assets, and to recognize the investment by the North Carolina General Assembly in our grants and programs.

Tab/Accordion Items

In all communications, North Carolina Arts Council should always be written out on first reference. N.C. Arts Council is acceptable on second reference. NCAC should not be used.

Speeches/ Introductions

If you give any kind of introduction or speech, you should acknowledge the investment from your grant.

This is an example of how you might do that:

“We would like to thank the North Carolina Arts Council for their investment in our program through (specific grant that you received.) We recognize that this investment came from the state of North Carolina and we are grateful for this support.”

Make sure to save materials with logos to share with us in your reporting. You can take a photo of the printed material with the logo page showing and take photos of any banners that have the logo included.

Talking points about investment in the arts

If you have newspaper interviews, or create your own press release, here are some talking points about investment in the arts. These can help explain why it is a meaningful accomplishment to receive a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.

Overview
  • The North Carolina Arts Council strives to deliver resources for arts development to all 100 counties of the state through programs that are fair, transparent, and accountable.
  • The Arts Council is an agency of the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. A 24-member citizen board, appointed by the Governor, advises the Secretary of the Department on policies, programs, and research that support arts development across North Carolina.
Core Values
  • The arts creatively express ideas, concepts, and emotions that deepen our understanding of the world and of the human condition as well as challenge us to discuss and debate the important issues of our time. This belief in the intrinsic value of the arts lies at the core of our work.
  • A conviction that the arts are essential to the growth and well-being of our state’s communities also inspires our programs and initiatives. The North Carolina Arts Council delivers resources to arts organizations and artists to support projects and programs of public value—including revitalizing downtowns, helping our youth succeed through creative approaches to education in and beyond the classroom, healing the wounds of war for active military service members and veterans, and fueling a thriving non-profit creative sector that generates over $2 billion in annual direct economic activity in our communities.
