Using the Arts Council Logo and Messaging in Your Materials
If you have received funding from the North Carolina Arts Council you are required to use the logo with the tagline. We also encourage you to place this on your website, use it in your print and electronic newsletters and in as many materials and places as possible.
Grants from the N.C. Arts Council are one of the many ways we invest in sustaining and advancing the most diverse and widespread networks of arts organizations in the country. As an organization funded by the N.C. Arts Council you create and sustain innovative arts programs that contribute to quality of life and to community vitality. Additionally, you provide critical resources for schools in providing arts experiences in and out of the classroom that enhance student learning.
To recognize the investment by the North Carolina General Assembly in our grants program ALL recipients are required to display the North Carolina Arts Council logo with the tagline prominently on-site at the funded event and in all publicity and printed materials. You are welcome to display the NEA logo at any time, but if the source of funds on your grant says “federal funds,” you must display the NEA logo.
Printed material and publicity regarding North Carolina Arts Council grants, funded activities, and/or partnerships must contain the following language:
If you receive State funds:
This project was supported by the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural & Cultural Resources. www.NCArts.org.
If your organization lists donor participation in printed materials, you must list the N.C. Arts Council in the appropriate category. (See Donor Recognition below.) For radio, television and non-written announcements please use the language above.
If you receive Federal funds:
If you list donor participation in printed materials or on your website (i.e. Benefactors $25,000 –$49,000, Directors $10,000 – $24,999, Sponsors $5,000 – $9,999, etc.) you must include the North Carolina Arts Council in the appropriate category. Do not use the acronym NCAC.
You must display the N.C. Arts Council logo in all grant-related publicity and printed materials. Do not reproduce the logo from faxed or photocopied images. The logo must be reproduced as a unit without alteration. The logo may be no smaller than 1″ wide. The circle with the words “ARTS” must be a least the size of a nickel, although the size of a quarter is preferable. Please see the attached Visual Guide.
In written communication, North Carolina Arts Council should always be written out on first reference. The use of NCAC is internal nomenclature for the arts industry so please do not use this on materials for the public. We prefer: North Carolina Arts Council or N.C. Arts Council on second reference.
