Producer, musician, and music industry executive Tony Brown has worked with some of the biggest names in country music: from Elvis Presley and Emmylou Harris to Reba McEntire and George Strait. His work has yielded over 100 #1 singles, a whopping $100 million of record sales, multiple Academy of Country Music awards, and a nearly two decade-long stint as President of MCA Nashville Records.
His journey to the gilded rooms of Nashville’s Music Row spans decades, and it it all started in the quiet community of Walkertown, North Carolina, where Brown grew up in the music and message of the gospel.
Last fall, the Stokes County Arts Council, Come Hear NC, and the North Carolina Arts Council welcomed Tony Brown back home for a special homecoming celebration of his musical achievements and memoir “Elvis, Strait, to Jesus: An Iconic Producer’s Journey with Legends of Rock ‘N’ Roll, Country, and Gospel Music.”
Tony Brown reflects on his time playing music with Elvis Presley, his work ethic, and his homecoming in the video below.
