The North Carolina Arts Council will accept applications for the 2010-11 Artist Fellowship awards for visual arts, craft, film/video and choreography until Nov. 2, 2009. The fellowship award is $10,000.Fellowship guidelines can be found at www.ncarts.org.
The program is funded by the North Carolina General Assembly and supports creative development and the creation of new work for artists in North Carolina. The fellowship allows artists to set aside time to work and to buy supplies and equipment. North Carolina artists who have been year-round residents of the state for at least a year immediately prior to the application deadline may apply.Students are not eligible.
Applicants will submit the Artist Fellowship application electronically using Arts Grants Online, a comprehensive application Web site. Complete details about the fellowship are available on the Arts Council's Web site at www.ncarts.org/fellowships. For artists without a home computer, there are computers available for public use at all public libraries.

Composers of jazz, chamber, electronic, experimental and symphonic music; songwriters; playwrights and screenwriters; spoken-word artists and writers of fiction, poetry, literary nonfiction and literary translation will next be eligible to apply for an Artist Fellowship November 1, 2010.
