Stop Violence Through the Arts

Stop Violence Through the Arts is a new Web resource on arts programs for youth-at-risk established by the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Found at www.nasaa-arts.org, the Web resource is a component of a year-long campaign designed by MTV to raise awareness and give young people the tools to take a stand against violence. According to NASAA,"... the Stop Violence Through the Arts site provides dramatic examples of how the arts can provide young people with alternatives to violence, turning anger and confusion into creative expression, leading to job and life skills."

Visitors to the site will find lists of state arts agencies and other arts and social service organizations that have outstanding programs for youth-at-risk. The organizations featured from North Carolina are:
