Timmy Abell - Folk Music
Timmy Abell is one of the Southeast’s most sought after concert performers for children with awards from Parents’ Choice and the American Library Association. His spellbinding concerts celebrate the historical and living qualities of American, Appalachian, International, and original folk songs, including a variety of adventure stories, tall tales, fairy tales, and mountain Jack Tales performed on a collection of rare musical instruments. Timmy has been featured at The National Theater, JFK Library in Boston, Richmond Children’s Museum, Piccolo Spoleto, Merlefest and concert halls, schools and libraries throughout the eastern US.

Sherry Austin is the author of Mariah of the Spirits, a collection of literary ghost stories; Where the Woodbine Twines, a novel, and The Days Between the Years, a novel chosen as a finalist for the Willie Morris Award for Fiction. She has received two literary fellowships--one for fiction and one for literary nonfiction--from the North Carolina Arts Council. She is a North Carolina Humanities Council Road Scholar, speaking on the topic “The Audacious and the Fantastic: the Art of Southern Gothic.” She is also a member of the Southern Artists Federation and the National League of American Pen Women. She is currently working in fiction and in literary nonfiction.
