Grants and Resources

The Arts Council provides grants for arts programming that benefits the citizens of North Carolina.

Grants for Organizations

To be eligible for funding, organizations must be nonprofit and must have produced quality arts programs for at least two consecutive years. The deadline for 2010–2011 organizational grant applications is March 1, 2010, at 5 p.m. To apply, visit our online application and reporting system, North Carolina ARTS Grants Online (AGO).

Grants for Artists

  • Artist Fellowships »
    $10,000 fellowships to support the creative development of N.C. artists. The next deadline is November 1, 2010, for writers, songwriters, composers, playwrights and screenwriters. (Visual art, craft, film/video and choreography will be available in 2011.)
  • Residency Center Grants »
    One- to two-month residencies at the Headlands Center for the Arts in California or the Vermont Studio Center.

Internships

Three-month-long internships in Community Arts Administration and Folklife. A $5,000 stipend is provided.
