Resources for ArtistsNorth Carolina has long nurtured and attracted artists. We are world-renowned as the home of Black Mountain College, an incubator for the modern art movement in America. We are the birthplace of jazz greats like Thelonius Monk and John Coltrane, celebrated writers such as O. Henry, Ann Tyler, and David Sedaris, and successful visual artists including Kenneth Noland and Romare Bearden. Each year summer music festivals and outdoor dramas bring talented established and emerging artists to the state. The N. C. Arts Council provides a variety of resources by discipline for emerging, established and artists at the beginning of their careers. Use the links below to find your area of interest.
