"With the help of this fellowship I will be able to complete my novel-in-progress. The fellowship will provide financial support for independent editorial reviews and supplies, facilitating my transition from the form of the short story to the form of the novel."

David Shaw received a M.F.A. from UNC-Greensboro, a Master of Arts from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Arts from UNC-Chapel Hill. He lives in Chapel Hill, where he is managing editor of Southern Culture, published by UNC’s Center of the Study of the American South.
