"Funding is critical at this point in my artistic development.
All of the projects I am involved in are high-tech in nature.
It is my hope that my projects will be seen as a strong and high
profile effort to integrate computer technology into new artistic
expressions of human experience. The production and installation
of multimedia projects requires funding for equipment (computers,
hard drives, projectors, motion detectors, general supplies, and
software), but I am confident that I can create works that integrate
technology in a supportive and intuitive way to the overall experience,
exploring the impressive potential of the medium without being
invasive."
Patrick FitzGerald has B.A. from Southern Methodist University,
Dallas, and an M.F.A. in painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art,
Detroit, MI. He also attended the Computer Graphic Design Master's
program at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. He worked at the Kodak
Center for Creative Imaging and AVX (a multimedia firm) before
coming to Raleigh. He is currently an assistant professor of design
in the School of Design at North Carolina State University.
