Sculptor
"The support of the North Carolina Arts Council grant will provide
me the ability to acquire tools, materials, and most importantly
the quality time needed to produce vital works of art. The fellowship
will allow me to reduce my work load providing me more time to
dedicate to my creative interests. I will be able to acquire the
tools I need and depend less on the generosity of fellow artists
and institutions. The element of finding and using 'found' materials
is an important aspect of my work, but I also rely on purchased
material as well. The fellowship will allow me to purchase the
materials necessary to continue producing large scale works of
art."
Mace Drouillard has a B.F.A. from Florida International University,
Miami, and an M.F.A. from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill. He lives in Chapel Hill, NC.
