Becke Roughton
Writer
"The North Carolina Writers Fellowship would allow me the time
and space to concentrate on a project that has become increasingly
imperative that I bring to shape: a collection of poems written
from the voice of a character whose physical position is stationary
but whose vision is expansive and universal. I expect this project
will have an impact on my approach to writing. I welcome an experimental
and (I hope) fluid process."
Becke Roughton has an M.F.A. in creative writing from Warren Wilson
College and an M.F.A. in studio arts form the University of North
Carolina at Greensboro. She is an instructor of fine arts and
creative writing at James Sprunt Community College. She lives
in Kenansville, NC.
