Kerry Johanssen Poet "I will use a Writers Fellowship to set aside a block of time to begin new work, specifically, a book length poem which has been churning around in my mind for the past year. This work could best be written under circumstances that allow for continuous concentration. The next stage of my writing crucially depends on full devotion to an extended poem." Kerry Johanssen has an M.F.A. in poetry from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop and a B.A. from Centenary College of Louisiana. This year she received a Pushcart nomination.
