Martha Greenwald
Writer
"I seek a stretch of focused, quiet time away from the responsibilities
of my job, so that I may complete my book-length manuscript of
poetry. My book is grounded in the common issues of daily life
and reflects my ambition to imaginatively document the rich inner
life of the American workplace. If awarded a grant, I would be
able to set aside time to work on my collection's final section
which I anticipate will run about thirty pages. What I desperately
need more than anything else right now is the time to complete
a book that I have been writing, and researching experientially,
for years."
Martha Greenwald has an M.A. from Iowa State University and a
B.A. in English Literature from Brandeis University. A former
Stegner Fellow in Creative Writing at Stanford University, she
lives in Durham, NC.
