Sherri Wood Visual Artist "I used my 1996-97 Visual Arts Fellowship to supplement my income while I worked on a major piece, 'Manna,' which took six solid months to complete. 'Manna' is the second piece in a series I am working on that deals with sacred texts. Without the grant I would not have had the time to commit to such a major and unprofitable piece. Yet this piece has reached many and has done much to further my creative imagination and professional career as an artist." Sherri Wood has an M.A. from Emory University and a B.A. from Bethany College. She lives in Carrboro, NC. Return to the NC Artist Grant Award Recipients for 1996-97
