Yves Paquette
Visual Artist

"As a result of the Artist Fellowship Grant I was able to concentrate and devote much time needed in the making of new sculptural works for exhibition in the U.S. The grant enabled me to continue with the exploration of materials and their relation with my ceramic sculpted forms. As well as exhibiting my work as "installations," I have also participated in national juried and invitational exhibitions. Through this grant I believe I have furthered my artistic goals and gained more recognition as a professional artist. It allowed me to create bodies of works where the exploration of new ideas and techniques took place, while providing me with an opportunity to reformulate ideas within each exhibition."

Yves Paquette has an M.F.A. from Ohio University and a B.F.A. from Nova Scotia College of Art & Design. He is an instructor of art at Piedmont Community College in Charlotte where he resides.
