Henryk Fantazos
Visual Artist
"When I was applying for my grant I intended to spend the money as part of the expenses on a book project, a book about my work. I have bought a special slide cabinet to contain my slides in chronological order. I have engaged two very thoughtful writers to work with me on the text of the book about my art. That effort produced about 150 pages of transcribed but not edited interviews. Eventually that text is going to be weeded, made fragrant and intellectually nourishing, I'm sure. I spent the rest of my funds building a painter's studio in my backyard with a storage room for my paintings."
Henryk Fantazos has an M.A. from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Poland. He works full time as an artist and lives in Hillsborough, NC.
