Kevin Michael Balling
Film/Video Artist
"With the assistance of this fellowship I purchased audio equipment
to give me a computerized, nonlinear system for my studio, and
I completed an experimental video entitled "Benediction." I have
also made significant progress toward completing "Rites of Eden,"
a video that deals with the family farm, decline of their tobacco
crop, and the cultural, environmental and economic role that industrial
hemp could play in their future."
Kevin Balling has an Ed.S and M.A. from Appalachian State University
and a B.S. from Gardner-Webb University. He is a lecturer in the
Department of Communication at Appalachian State University and
lives in Todd, NC.
