Painting On The Edge
This international juried exhibition is open to artists working in all painting, printmaking and drawing media. The exhibition will be held at the Federation Gallery in Vancouver, Aug 18– Sept 6, 2009 and includes $8,000 in prizes.

The Sharadin Art Gallery at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania requests proposals from artists, craftspeople and designers for the production of an original, site-specific installation in our exhibition space at the Sharadin Art Gallery. The selected artist (or artist team) will be awarded $10,000. The award must cover all material and labor costs associated with the production of the work, all travel expenses to and from our site, all incidental costs, meals, and artist fees and honoraria. Housing provided by the university. Kutztown University students will be available to assist physical production of selected proposal.

Artspace
Artspace in Raleigh is seeking innovative proposals from artists working in 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional media for solo and/or group shows. Artspace galleries are dedicated to challenging exhibitions by both emerging and established artists. Exhibitions run for 6–8 weeks with an opening reception held during First Friday Gallery Walks.

St. Petersburg Florida's 3rd annual fall street arts festival will take place September 26–27, 2009. Open call for folk, outsider and intuit artists to display and sell their creations to an estimated 20,000 art and music enthusiasts and collectors.

SlowArt Productions presents the group thematic exhibition "Strange Figurations." The exhibition will be held at the Limner Gallery in Hudson, N.Y., October 1–31, 2009. This exhibition is open to all interpretations of the concept "Strange Figurations." Included are all forms of unique and unusual figurative art from the realist to the surreal and visionary. All artist interpretations of the theme "Strange Figurations" will be reviewed and considered.

ATHICA is seeking entries for the exhibition "Free Press in Free Fall" that address the embattled print industry as well as broadcast, radio, web and other forms of news media, especially those that take into account modern-day journalism's current state of crisis and transition.

The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County
The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County is seeking entries for its upcoming "Get the Picture?" juried photo competition. Awards totaling $1,000 will be given in three categories: Black and White, Color and Digital/Mixed Media. "Get the Picture?" will debut during Fourth Friday activities on July 24 and will be on exhibit through August 22.
Deadline: Entries will be accepted at the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County on July 16-18.

The Town of Chapel Hill
The Town of Chapel Hill is accepting applications for the 37th annual Festifall Street Fair to be held October 4, 2009. Space is available to qualifying artists, performers and exhibitors. Over 10,000 people are expected to attend.
