Art on the Vine Festival at Iron Gate Winery
Artists in the Piedmont interested in displaying and selling their work at the Vine Festival in Mebane (Alamance County) can download a PDF application online or contact Show Director India Cain at indiacain@triad.rr.com. The festival is scheduled May 16–17.

Exposure 2009 – A Photography Competition
This photography competition sponsored by the Caldwell Arts Council will take place May 1–29. The exhibition is open to all photographers whose primary source of income is NOT photography, and who live, work, or attend school in the counties of Alexander, Avery, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Watauga, and Wilkes. Each entrant may submit a maximum of three entries. A prospectus (word file) is available online.

Second Annual Plein Air Paint Out and Juried Exhibition
Hosted by The Community Council for the Arts in Kinston, the event will be April 30–May 9, 2009. Plein Air Painters of all skill levels are invited to paint Kinston's historic downtown and charming waterfront April 30–May 1 from 9–5 p.m. An entry fee of $15 will allow you to enter the competition and compete for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prizes. The first place winner will be featured on the 2010 Festival on the Neuse posters. Download a PDF application online.

Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowship
Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is now accepting applications for the Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowship. Recipients in the Extraordinary Potential category demonstrate strong interest and a commitment to continued training, are in their early- to mid-career, and have completed training within the last fifteen years. Award recipients will receive $15,000 and up to $10,000 in student loan repayment. Recipients in the Distinguished Achievement category have demonstrated considerable experience in professional theatre with a substantial body of work, and will receive $25,000. The TCG member host theatre receives $7,500.

Deadline: For application and online registration, June 15, 2009.

General Artist Opportunities

The Mountain Arts Program (MAP)
Sponsored by the Western Arts Agencies of North Carolina (WAANC), MAP is seeking artists in all disciplines to participate in a program of residencies in the public schools in western North Carolina counties. Visual artists, dramatists, dancers, jugglers, mimes, folk and classical musicians, photographers, craftspeople, and writers are sought to work in schools with students of all grade levels. The residencies range from single day visits up to full week-long residencies. Students are given hands-on sequential arts experiences.

IBX Arts offers free listings and resources for artists, art galleries and art organizations of the Inner Banks, at www.IBXarts.org.
