Project Description
A neon sculpture is suspended in the lobby of the student recreation complex. The work is divided into three sections, each symbolizing a different period in the history of American Sign Language. The bottom section, composed of dark hues, represents the oppression people who are deaf experienced in the past using ASL. Colors mix in the middle section, symbolizing the increasing acceptance of ASL and the top symbolizes complete acceptance of ASL.
