Biography
This internationally recognized artist, born in Nagoya, Japan, has received many fellowships and public art commissions. Kaneko has taught at the Cranbrook Academy and the Rhode Island School of Design. In 1996 he was inducted into the American Crafts Council's prestigious College of Fellows.

Project Description
Brick pavers pattern the plaza in front of the main entrance to the building. Kaneko met with engineering staff, faculty and students to explore the inter-relatedness of art and science. Kaneko created a work resulting from these discussions and his study of the rhythms and patterns in nature.
