Biography
Al Frega has a BA degree from the State University of New York in Buffalo and a Master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received a North Carolina Arts Council Artist's Fellowship in 1994. He has exhibited his sculpture in numerous exhibitions throughout North Carolina and has created several temporary and permanent large-scale public commissions.

Cary Esser has a BFA degree from the Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA degree from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. She received a North Carolina Arts Council Artist's Fellowship in 1988. Her public commissions include ceramic tile murals for a high school in Maryland and a park in Sanford, NC.

Project Description

Esser and Frega created a free-standing sculpture for the lobby. It contains a table constructed of found metal objects with a carved ceramic urn as a centerpiece. A wallwork for the lobby contains five panels, each composed of ceramic tiles placed into sculptured metal frames.
