Project Description
This installation resides in the large lawn area of the interior courtyard of the Old Education Building. Twenty-four black cast concrete columns which represent the twenty-four major cities and towns of North Carolina stand in the courtyard. The varying height of the columns represents the populous of each city or town. They are placed on the lawn in a configuration that represents the geographic location of each city in the state. Binary numbers representing each city's populations are sandblasted onto the sculptures.
