Tom Otterness

Biography
Tom Otterness studied at the Art Students League of New York and in the Independent Study Program of the Whitney Museum of American Art. He has received multiple public art commissions, in the United States and abroad, including major works for Battery Park City in New York, for federal buildings in Los Angeles, Portland, Minneapolis and Sacramento, and a public artwork for the City of Munster, Germany. He has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions.

Project Description

The artist will create a cast bronze sculpture for the lobby of the new music building. The work will consist of an eleven foot column, on top of which will be four bronze figures holding up a large globe. A fifth figure will stand on top of the globe, playing a musical instrument.
